The first annual H2O Challenge at FAU !
The FAU chapter of the Florida Water Environment Association is hosting a fundraiser called the H2O Challenge.
This event addresses the need for safe drinking water around the globe.
Did you know that 1.1 billion people worldwide do not have access to clean water? Preventable water-borne diseases kill one child every eight seconds!
The H2O challenge at FAU will run from March 21st through April 4th, and will involve drinking only water for the duration of two weeks. Participants will save the money that would ordinarily be spent on other beverages and keep it in a cup, provided by FWEA members.
After the two weeks, this money will be collected and donated to the association Water for people in order to help drill wells to get clean water, and provide safe drinking water supplies around the world. At the end of the project, FAU FWEA will host a collection celebration for participants and will include food and beverages.
To register or to find out more about the H2O Challenge, simply drop by our kickoff meeting on Monday, March 21st at 2:00pm in the Akhurst Room (old engineering) or meet us on the breezeway March 22st-24th-25th and 28th-29h-30th.
